About the Event
QUEER EXISTENCE IS RESISTANCE, BUT QUEER PARTICIPATION IS LIBERATION.
While we often hear that the first Pride was a riot, some of the biggest wins for our community have come from collective efforts and community organizing. That is why this year, our Pride celebrations focus on building collective strength and increasing participation of our queer members.
At a time when those in power target our community, we need to call on the strength of those who came before us to organize for the issues that impact us.
We invite our queer LUPE members and allies to come together and organize in their communities on the issues most pressing to them. Join us this coming Saturday, June 20th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Caffeine Library in Edinburg, TX for a three-part talk on civic participation, narrative, and organizing tools to start building collective power.
